Partnership with Arsenal FC
on April 7th, 2011 in News by The Brewster Trust
THE BREWSTER TRUST signed a three year commitment with Arsenal FC to support and sponsor the programme Arsenal in the Community focused on “The Gap Year” programme.
Nathaniel Brewster, an initiator of the charity and actual participant in Arsenal’s Gap Year Programme, said: “The development of sports based social inclusion initiatives has been last but not least the driver to step in and support the programme as the Trust’s general mission is to promote, develop and improve football especially in Barbados with the aim of creating opportunities at all levels, but especially for the youth.” One approach of the charity is to have qualified and experienced people who are dedicated to football and are willing to share their know-how. Arsenal’s approach fits perfectly with this philosophy. Taking the examples of Israel or Kenya Arsenal in the Community has recruited year by year several gap year students to coach football, but also to support as assistants in local schools. This is what The Brewster Trust sees as one important element towards fulfilling their objectives.
