Football Holiday Camp 2013 – week I
on July 12th, 2013 in News by The Brewster TrustThe coach the coaches week at the Holiday Camp 2013
The programme started on 8th July 2013 with a coaching course for football coaches, 34 local coaches registered, the female quota has been 15%. 30 coaches or 88% took part in average every day and over 50% came every single day. Head coach for the coaching week was John Olaleye from Arsenal FC. Focus of this first week has been kick-up skills, turns, passing, games, but also safety or organisation. Elements of team building as well as FUTSAL and classroom sessions completed the programme. Over 20 coaches of the participants followed the invitation to assist the charity’s coaching team in the following weeks to execute what they’ve learnt. At the end of the Holiday Camp the most outstanding coach will be awarded participation at the next Arsenal Gap Year programme in London for one month including accommodation as well as travel costs.
Further programme
On Monday, 15th July 2013 THE BREWSTER TRUST expects 182 registered campers in the age group 5-9 and 184 campers in the age group 10-14. The Football Holiday Camp 2013 comes complete with camp basics but also includes extras for parental comfort and focus on the children like health insurance cover, ambulance service, physiotherapist, hot healthy lunches and afternoon fruit breaks, isotonic beverages or shirt, shorts, socks and shinpads for every camper and not to forget academic football sessions in classrooms or indoor FUTSAL training. Axel Bernhardt, CEO of THE BREWSTER TRUST, states: “It was again overwhelming and exciting to get the feedbacks after we communicated the programme end of May. Although we increased capacities compared to last year, we had to close the first groups after some days. Like last year when we hosted 706 campers we can see the big passion for football from the children and also from the parents indicated by factors like attendance, communication or punctuality.”
