The Sojourner Foundation

The Sojourner Foundation’s Chairman Aldair Sobers asked THE BREWSTER TRUST for some support for the basic needs of the football club to ensure the continued running of the programme.

The Sojourner Foundation is a registered Charity (# 576) which was established in 2003 with the mission of promoting social and educational development, health and study skills. The charity intend to fulfil this mandate by building strategic partnerships to sustain budding projects such as Operation Kultivation, Community of Positive Endeavors (C.O.P.E.) and a Youth programme following its mission statement to “Give people the opportunity to be responsible for the upliftment and upkeep of their community; as a community”.

The football team is part of the social and sports component of the organisation. Research shows that participation of young people in structured recreation contributes to their physical and psychological development and can teach basic values such as life skills, hard work, discipline, teamwork, fairness and respect for others to facilitate them in pursuing their goals. The Sojourner Foundation intends to provide the current members ranging from ages 9 – 16 from the SargeantsVillage, Clapham, Forde’s Rd and Flag Staff communities, with these opportunities.

THE BREWSTER TRUST agreed to donate 10 size five footballs and 20 pairs of shin guards.

We wish The Sojourner Foundation best of success on its mission.
