BSSFL U-19 | Season 2022/2023
The Barbados Secondary Schools’ Football League congratulates the winner of the BSSFL U-19 League of the season 2022/2023:
- Queen’s College
Competition 1: The League
General information
- Duration of play: games are of eighty (80) minutes duration; i.e. two forty (40) minute halves.
- Match time: Matches should start at 3:30 p.m.; a grace period of 15 minutes will be granted to away teams.
- Points: Three (3) points for a win, one (1) point for a draw and no (0) points for a loss.
- Substitutions: Each team is permitted five (5) substitutions per match.
- Eligibility of players: Players must be born after 31st December 2004. Tertiary institutions are permitted to register and include only three (3) players who are in their second year but are still within the age requirement. The three (3) players may not be changed after registration.
- Deportment of teams: All teams must be uniformly dressed (i.e. shirts, shorts and socks), as stipulated in Law 4 in the Laws of Association Football. Shirts must carry separate and distinct numbers. Players are allowed to wear personal protective equipment as long as it serves a medical purpose and is reported to the match official before the start of the match.
- Promotion / relegation: the top two teams from League 2 will be automatically promoted, the bottom two teams from League 1 will be relegated; 3rd place from League 2 will play off 8th place from League 1 for the final League 1 berth.
- Postponements: Postponements must be conveyed to The President or Secretary twenty-four (24) hours in advance unless in case of emergency. All postponed games must be played on the Friday of the week in which they were scheduled, unless otherwise authorized by The League and must be sanctioned by the League. Teams requesting a postponement may be asked to change the venue of the game to accommodate rescheduling.
- Forfeitures: all forfeited games must have the approval of The League, request must be sent to the League twenty fours hour in advance outlining the reason for forfeiture, in the event of a forfeiture the opposing team will be awarded three points and three goals, teams who forfeit two or more matches in the competition will face disciplinary action.
- Annotation venues: all Ellerslie School games will be played at Usain Bolt Complex, Graydon Sealy’s Home Ground is Bay Primary, and Alexandra’s Home ground is Speightstown Playing Field.
