Organiser

The Football Holiday Camp 2025 is organised by THE BREWSTER TRUST, a registered charitable Trust in Barbados. The trust’s main mission is to promote, develop and improve football in Barbados with the aim of creating opportunities at all levels, especially for the youth.

Coaches

THE BREWSTER TRUST has invited a coaching team from its global network; the coaches come from AMANDLA, also a charitable organisation, established in Khayelitsha in South Africa in 2007, with the current mission to empower youth through effective role modelling, fusing of safe spaces, education, and sport.

Coaching team

Yanga Gcilishe, Technical Director & Head Coach

I am 39 years old, and I grew up in Gugulethu in South Africa. I began my journey with Amandla and Safe-Hub in 2024 as the Programme Manager at our Khayelitsha Safe-Hub, where I oversaw the EduFootball Programme. I’m now based in Johannesburg and serve as the After-School Programme Manager within the Product Department. I’m a passionate leader in youth development and sports for social change. As an ASP Manager, I bring over a decade of experience in designing, developing, and scaling impactful programmes across South Africa. My background as a former professional footballer, combined with my current postgraduate studies, allows me to merge strategic thinking with grassroots experience. I’m committed to creating inclusive, high-impact after-school environments that support holistic youth development, community leadership, and real pathways to opportunity.

Siphokazi “Afro” Ndlangalavu, Coach

I am Siphokazi “Afro” Ndlangalavu, a 35-year-old woman from South Africa with a deep-rooted passion for community development and sport. My journey with Safe-Hub began in 2012 as part of the first official PlayMaker cohort, where I coached, refereed, and mentored young people at the Khayelitsha Safe-Hub. What started as an opportunity to grow my skills in sport has since become a transformative career path that continues to open doors. Since joining Safe-Hub, I’ve moved through various milestones becoming the first woman to be appointed as a Programme Manager, and now serving as the National Product Coordinator. Driven by a commitment to fairness, equity, and inclusion, I’ve used my passion for sport and community development to ensure that our programmes reflect these values. I live the Safe-Hub philosophy of “Every Kid, Every Day, Every Moment,” and nothing brings me greater joy than making a meaningful impact in the lives of the participants and people I engage with every day.

Elizabeth Clinton, Coach

Elizabeth is from Philadelphia, USA and grew up playing football, doing distance running, and participating in various sports that helped shape her life and future goals. Elizabeth joined AMANDLA in 2017, learning the organization’s methodology from the Safe-Hub team in South Africa before returning to her home city to drive football-based youth development activities through North America’s first Safe-Hub in Philadelphia. She is passionate about supporting young people as they grow as athletes and leaders on and off the pitch!

Dakalo Kholopa, Coach

I am 27 years old, from Alexandra Township in South Africa. I started my journey with Amandla Safe-Hub in 2021 as a PlayMaker and now serve as a Programme Officer. I’m passionate and determined, and over the years, I’ve grown from a shy individual into a confident leader who embraces new challenges. I’m motivated by the gift of life and the drive to achieve more every day. While I’ve faced personal challenges—including being mocked for my height and stepping into a leadership role among former peers — I stay focused on my purpose. What I enjoy most about my work is connecting with participants, especially the joy of playing with kids, which always makes everything else fade aways.

Hloniphani Qithi, Coach

I am 27 years old. I was born in KwaZulu-Natal, raised in Orange Farm, and now live in Soweto in South Africa. I joined Amandla Safe-Hub in January 2022 as a Youth Café Mobiliser and also serve as the Senior Team Head Coach at 2 Touch Academy. I’m passionate about empowering young people through sport, education, and faith, and currently mentor over 150 boys from Soweto and Orange Farm. Growing up in under-resourced communities with limited access to opportunities taught me resilience and fueled my commitment to making a difference. I find purpose in building meaningful connections with young people and watching them grow — whether through the Youth Café or on the football field. What motivates me most is the desire to raise strong, respectful, purpose-driven young men and contribute to improving my community.

The programme

The two-week programmes are all about the youth. The training sessions are age group and performance related and following THE BREWSTER TRUST’s mission it is football for everyone straight from the beginner, full of fun and surprises.

Coaching in several groups – coaches are assigned to groups to encourage familiarity with the young people. The coaches will work with that same group over the course of each two-week periods.

THE BREWSTER TRUST offers the age group 18+ also to integrate parents as well as senior players to the charity’s football programme.

If you want to attend with a full team or group of people please contact us directly.

Coaching elements

The coaching elements within a specific youth development ecosystem will be multifarious; besides Football Free Play, FairPlay Football Matches or Futsal the camp syllabus includes Energisers, Team Building Activities, Life Skills Workshops, Team Reflection, Educational Board Games, Dance & Music Sessions or Creative Sessions; this will be followed by presentations to all players as well as some awards being handed out; we operate on the field, off the field as well as in classrooms.

Venue

The Football Holiday Camp is going to be held at The Parkinson Resource Centre in The Pine, St. Michael; security, drop-off and pick-up zones as well as parking will be organised; our venue partner in conjunction with the Pinelands Youth Soccer Academy will provide changing rooms, classrooms, toilets and bathrooms – and of course a “lost and found”.

We don’t want to miss to thank the Community Development Department of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment for the hospitality and the generous support.

Children with disabilities & special needs

As a matter of course THE BREWSTER TRUST offers the Football Holiday Camp 2025 also to children with special needs and/or disabilities. Any special requirements can be discussed after application and prior to registration with the Organiser.

Breakfast Club

THE BREWSTER TRUST will again offer a Breakfast Club for the upcoming camp to help participants to get a nutritious start to their camp day, in response to growing concerns that children were attending the programme without having any breakfast. An implementation depends on additional donations of our camp family.

During the application and registration processes THE BREWSTER TRUST will find out more about feasibility and contributions to finally decide about the Breakfast Club; applicants who tick ‘interested’ on the application/registration form will be contacted accordingly.

Final remark

As footballers THE BREWSTER TRUST doesn’t write team with an “I”. To organise a programme like the Holiday Camp 2025 and to entertain this amount of campers including their families on a day-to-day basis for four weeks – reliable partners with passion and commitment make the difference. Therefore, our thank goes to our venue partners The Parkinson Resource Centre and Pinelands Youth Soccer Academy, UNICEF, PUMA, CG UNITED, Island Care, Michael Greaves Associates (Barbados) Inc. and the many others and volunteers in the background for the fantastic support. Much appreciated.

Consider discipline, respect and fair play for the game.
