Work Experience

  • Arsenal Gap Year Programme (August 2012- July 2013): The Arsenal Gap Year Programme is a voluntary course designed for school leavers and Graduates seeking sustained work and overseas travel experience in a stimulating environment. Since learning how to become an effective soccer coach, I have been placed in Regent High School where I coach children aged 11-15 three days a week, whilst also assisting the P.E department in everyday sessions. I have also taken part in the Arsenal Double Club (which encourages children to study harder by using football as an incentive) as well as the Premier League’s KICKZ program, which is an initiative designed to use football to bring together local communities, engage young people with the police, and help reduce crime. I have learned so much about local communities and how to approach hard to reach children and adolescents in London, and have become a more rounded individual as a result. I am excited about travelling abroad in early 2013 to experience cultures vastly different from what I know, and hopefully I can use the experience gained and the lessons learned after I complete the program in July 2013.
  • Regent High School, London (September – December 2012): Coaching children aged 11-15, and helping the PE department with general PE sessions. Also coaching younger children aged 5-9 once a week.
